My story began right in the heart of Colorado. With the mountains practically in my backyard, I learned at a very young age how truly beautiful our Rocky Mountains are.
As a child, I spent a lot of my early years with my grandfather (known in our family as “Feathers”). Some of my favorite memories were shared with him exploring our beautiful state, fishing, camping or just driving through the mountains. Another huge part of our relationship was our creative time. Whether we were building birdhouses and spray painting them for the sparrows or he was teaching me how to draw monkeys on paper restaurant placemats while we waited for our food, he was unknowingly shaping a lot of who I would become.
As my childhood transformed into my adulthood, I naturally loved the outdoors of any place I visited or lived. I have thrived on the opportunity to learn new things from different people or circumstances. The way I absorb my surroundings has never been boring. Whether I am analyzing how I would sketch my surroundings, how something was built, what colors I’d have to mix to replicate the blue in a deep dusk sky, or simply wondering if a buffet table’s user flow makes sense, I love seeing the world through my eyes.
Finally…I LOVE RED. When combining my history with my favorite color, it only felt right to build the identity of my creativity around RED FEATHERS DESIGN.
